The process of applying the make-up for a Kathakali dancer/performer (seen earlier here). We watched the whole process which took just over an hour. The white fans are actually pieces of paper and are applied with a glue of rice paste. Most of the colours are made from certain minerals which when ground with oil, became paint!!
